The Wienie 500 is a promotional event identity developed for the Indianapolis 500, positioned as the second annual activation extending race day culture through a playful, Americana-driven lens. The goal was to merge authentic motorsport branding with humor, creating a system that feels both legitimate and memorable.
The challenge was to balance humor with credibility—designing a brand that could live seamlessly across merchandise, promotional items, and event environments without feeling gimmicky. A key consideration was scalability and cost efficiency, with all items designed for large-scale production (3,000+ units) and selected based on real user value—prioritizing products that feel desirable, functional, and worth keeping rather than disposable giveaways.
